In commemoration of National Engineer’s Week (Feb. 21-27), the Engineering Tech Prep Class at Greenville High School held an annual competition involving the construction of balsa wood bridge structures. The thirteenth annual competition partnering with local engineers, Mote & Associates, was held on Friday, March 5 and Monday, March 8, 2021.  In the past, bridges, boom cranes, and earthquake resistant multi-story towers have been constructed of balsa wood as well as wood cranes built on floating Styrofoam platforms in a pool of water.  This year, due to gathering limitations invoked during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the event had to be modified. ...

Garst Museum – New Parking Lot

A new parking lot was recently completed at Garst Museum giving the community plenty of space to park and enjoy the museum.  The project was completed by Flora Excavating, Inc. with Mote & Associates, Inc. providing the engineering/design services for the project.

Engineering Tech Prep, Greenville High School - Floating Balsa Wood Gantry Frame Competition - February 21, 2020 The 12th annual competition partnering with Mote & Associates was held the week of February 16 - 22, 2020. The competition came to a close with each of the 16 teams made up of 49 Junior and Senior students presenting their gantry frames to the panel. Dylan Snyder, our high school intern received a 20 Under 20 Award at the annual Awards Banquet held on April 24, 2019 at Romer’s Catering in St. Henry.  The 20 Under 20 Awards are given for the purpose of giving recognition to Darke, Mercer, and Auglaize County students, schools, and businesses who work collaboratively in the training and/or career development for individuals under the age of 20.  Since Mote & Associates  encouraged and directed this opportunity for Dylan, our firm was  also honored at the banquet, as well.
